This mum’s honest posts about her post-baby body are what we ALL need to hear

Having children is rewarding and amazing and beautiful. But it is also so flippin' tiring. The toll that pregnancy and childbirth take on our bodies is worth all the pain and changes but we think we should celebrate them more - especially in a world that tells us constantly that looking like you never had a baby is key. Now, Instagram user, Alexandra Kilmurray, has dedicated her social media pages to showing off her post-partum body in all the glory it deserves. Alexandra shares photos of her stretchmarks and the rest of her body after having two children and the results are very powerful. One recent post explained:

"This was my belly 8 weeks postpartum with my first son. Just going through some old pictures of my pregnancies and births. Carrying two babies over 9lbs back to back was tough. I am still recovering 6 months after my second son! Cheers to mummy tummy's

Her brave uploads show that all bodies are to be celebrated, no matter what shape, size or texture - but instead for their strength and ability to carry life.

✨✨✨Repost✨✨✨ Sigh - well it took 4 years for me to do this, I looked myself in the mirror today an I said "be kind" I just starred and remembered, all the transformations my body has gone through, the growing human beings that sits now by my side and hugs and kisses my belly with so much joy and love and, I remembered the cravings, the first kicks the hiccups the turns, the births, the most challenging life changing episode... wOah ! We go through so much, our bodies can barely describe the intensity of it. This lines and stretched belly couldn't tell better the story of growth that my life has experienced, do I regret it? No way! I think sometimes how my life would have been "if" and honestly is scary, because this lines have saved my life, saved me from self destruction, this stretched jelly belly has taught me more than anything about my feminine sacred energy, I have never felt more confident about the vehicle that in this life this soul is riding, because the empowerment I get from motherhood is beyond words.
