We LOVE What Zooey Deschanel Just Said About The Post-Pregnancy Body

Hear hear Zooey! This week, actress Zooey Deschanel has spoken out about how she finds it strange that some people expect new mums to look like their pre-baby selves right after giving birth. In an interview with REDBOOK, she revealed: “To expect someone to look like her pre-baby self immediately is odd. “Because you just grew a human and then birthed that human – there’s a lot that needs to go back to where it was. All your organs move around, for chrissakes!”

The 'New Girl' star has a baby daughter, Elsie Otter, with her husband Jacob Pechenik and she says that becoming a mum made her grow up. “I’ve never really felt like an adult,” she told the magazine. “But I think it’s a huge accomplishment to have a child, so maybe I feel like an adult for that reason.” Top image via Instagram/Zooey Deschanel
