There are also proposals for “no-idling zones” to be introduced outside schools. These proposals say parents should also be fined if they leave their cars running for too long while they drop off their children.
Those in support of said proposals say it is to cut down on pollution in the school area.
In parts of London, these measures are already in place and parents are forced to fork out £80 (€92) in on-the-spot fines by officers.
