Kensington Palace staff say this royal is their favourite

We didn't expect this... at all.

When it comes to the royals, it's fair to say we have a few favourites. Harry is probably one of the most popular, along with Kate and then George and Charlotte. Of course, there are many more including the Queen, Princess Eugenie and Meghan Markle, but you know... each to their own. However, it now seems like Palace staff have a particular favourite, and it's someone we didn't expect at all. According to The Crown's very own Matt Smith who had to study the royals for his role on the show, he said that Prince Philip is the fave. "In the royal house he’s the most popular of all of them. If you've talked to any of the staff, Philip's the one they all love really. I think more than a lot of them, he's a bit more of a man of the people." He continued: "The royal protocol hasn’t dogged him in quite the same way his whole life and there’s a sort of rebellion in him and a naughtiness and a cheekiness. I think he’s quite affable and open by all accounts with the staff. They all love him." Told you it was unexpected.
