Mars Recalls Chocolate In 55 Countries Over ‘Choking Hazard’

Mars has recalled a host of their most popular chocolate products after a German consumer discovered pieces of red plastic inside a Snickers bar. The recall has been issued across 55 European countries, including Holland, Germany and the UK after the errant plastic was traced to the factory in Veghel in the Netherlands. While Mars has no record of any complaints in Ireland, consumers have been warned to avoid eating funsize MARS® MILKY WAY® MIX VARIETY PACK® and CELEBRATIONS® with best-before dates between May and October 2016, as listed below: A statement from Mars said "This is an isolated incident and only the above products manufactured in the Netherlands are impacted. No other varieties of chocolate, pack formats or bar sizes are affected in Ireland and no other best before dates or products manufactured at any other location are impacted."
