Young mother killed after man allegedly drove into family of eight

New York police were shocked yesterday when they reported to the scene of a horror collision.

A family of eight, including six children, were heartlessly mowed down by an angry driver after an apparent altercation. The mother of the children, said to be in her early thirties, died due to the injuries she sustained. A 35-year-old male and three of the six children were rushed to Westchester Medical Center with serious but non life-threatening injuries, according to police. The other three children were treated for injuries at a local hospital. Police have said that the suspect brandished a knife when they approached and had to be subdued with a stun gun. Many left their condolences on the Haverstraw Police Department's page for all the family members involved, especially the children.

The New York police have not revealed the identity of the family or suspect but said a charge of murder in the second degree (1 count) and attempted murder in the second degree (7 counts) are being filed against the suspect.
