Facebook finally confirms it will no longer ban breastfeeding pics

Facebook has published an update to its nudity policy, confirming that it will no longer censor images of women breastfeeding. Finally. Posting the update under its Community Standards, Facebook clarified what it constitutes as nudity, saying, "We also restrict some images of female breasts if they include the nipple, but we always allow photos of women actively engaged in breastfeeding or showing breasts with post-mastectomy scarring. "Restrictions on the display of both nudity and sexual activity also apply to digitally created content unless the content is posted for educational, humorous, or satirical purposes."

A statement was released on the site's news page on Sunday, stating, "While our policies and standards themselves are not changing, we have heard from people that it would be helpful to provide more clarity and examples, so we are doing so with today’s update."

The nudity policy update follows dozens of brelfies (breastfeeding selfies) being posted online by mums in protest of breastfeeding images that were previously banned by the social media site.
