This engagement ring style is going to be massive next year

Recently, we've learned that rose gold engagement rings are becoming more popular but it seems that there's a brand new look set to take over for 2018. Although you may have heard of the oval shape diamond before now, it would seem that the 'sideways oval' is a new take on the trend. This insight comes from jeweller extraordinaire Stephanie Gottlieb and if you're familiar with her designs, you'll know just how fab they are. There are some stunning styles on her Instagram account and the designer says that this is a way to put a new spin on the traditional oval shape. In conversation with Who What Wear, she explained her inspiration for this new trend.

"The sideways oval trend is a great way to take a classic shape like the oval and make it feel more unique and not so traditional. "Particularly when set in a classic solitaire or pavé setting, the mix of traditional and modern gives the ring a cool edge while not going completely out of the realm of feeling bridal".
